We have stayed at this camp site twice and cannot fault it. 1st week was Jubilee week 2012 - which was a wet and windy washout - but we lasted the week and still had a great time. This year stayed for 1 week at the end of May - it was glorious. Quiet and sunny - a perfect week. The facilities are basic and adequate. The price reflects the lack of fancy facilities such as play parks/washing machines etc - which suits us perfectly. The location is great with loads to do within a short distance. We will undoubtedly return.

Well what a great find. Totally fab location. Totally reasonably priced. Really friendly laid back owners. You can have campfires (you just pay £10 and they give you a metal fire pit thingy and a load of wood and then when you give it back at the end of your stay you get £5 back!!).
It's a lovely walk down to Lee Bay - you don't have to go on roads - just wander through the woods! Takes about 30 minutes to walk. And there is even a different route to walk back. Lee Bay is great for rock pooling and there is a lovely pub there where you can also get a rather nice French organic wine (apparently some chap who lives in the village has a vinyard in France and brings it over).
Toilets and showers are clean. The eggs that are sold on site are yummy. There is a farm that sells DELICIOUS lamb just a short walk alway which is fab for a BBQ.
It's just a short drive to Woolacombe for great surfing and a short drive to Ilfracombe for shops and trips to Lundy - basically what more could you want? Icecream? Well there is also icecream!!

We have just checked out of fab campsite... exactly what it says good clean facilities nice hot showers all free! huge grass pitches and great laid back atmosphere. The Jubilee bank holiday was extra busy but the facilities seemed to cope realy well. even in the bad weather. As the week continued it got quieter and we began to see what lovely spot and campsite Lee Meadow is..Camp Fire Hire is such a great idea and definitely kept everyones spirits up in the bad weather. As it got quieter we player rounders and cricket in the middle of the field great fun! The site was nice and quiet by around 10pm I think 11 was the rules but no one seemed to need telling even on the bank holiday the noise was to a minimum. The owners always around to help and with a friendly smile and good local knowledge to help for days out etc.. Woolacombe beach is beautiful golden sand with surfing etc.. A trip to Lee Beach and Tea rooms, real old village and very pretty too is defo worth walking through the woodland footpath to see. We will be back in the summer holidays can't wait, see you soon and thank you for a great camping trip

The Gloucester Rabble 5 Star Rating  27th September 2011

We didnt want to leave. Trudy and Matt were just great and so very friendly they made you feel like you had known them years. The kids loved just being able to explore and play in acres of space.
the adults liked the amount of room we were given and that we could sit out at night with a fire going, spotting satellites (sounds sad but very addictive).
The toilets and showers were very clean and always well serviced and the idea of the cafe is brilliant, especially when the bbq has died down and the kids announce that they are cold and hungry. Cheesy chips it is then !!
We will definitely go back as we had a blast and they are so friendly and we love Woolacombe.
Only one thing dampened our enjoyment and that was a couple nearby who expected silence at 9.0pm so their daughter could sleep. Sorry mate but camping isnt your thing if you want or expect that.
